You are the future!... and you are here to learn to honor, follow, praise and glorify our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. God made each of you special, and He loves you just the way you are! We have a responsibility:
to share what we learn in our words and by
our actions.
to love the Lord and spend time with Him.
to love other people, and help those with needs.
to be baptized after becoming a believer.
to learn and obey and hide in our hearts the
words and commandments of Jesus. ![]()
Children’s
Ministry focuses on the teaching, growth and nurture of young people from birth
through fifth grade. Jesus rejoiced in having the “little ones” near him… and
so do those working with our children.
We feel a special responsibility to bring them up in the ways of the
Lord, so that they will not wander as they grow; “ Let the little children come
to me, and do not hinder them; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as
these.” Matthew 19:14.
We
are committed to quality learning experiences and programs for our
children. Guided by a Children’s
Council and two staff members (Lynne Pope, Minister to Children and Lynne
Florin, Coordinator for Children’s Ministry), we focus on creatively leading every child to personally
know, love and depend upon Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord by the teaching of
Scripture and the working of the Holy Spirit. Our goal is that each child
will live his or her life according to the fullness of God's Living Word. (from
our Mission Statement)
Our preschool program serves
children from birth through four-years-old.
Classes are available for Children’s Church at 8:30 and 11:00; parents
pick up their child just prior to communion time in the Sanctuary for communion or a blessing. Sunday School is available for all ages at 10:00am and is taught
by a dedicated group of teachers who commit to one group of students for the
entire year. Kid’s Praise is a
less-formal church service for kindergarten through 4th graders at
the 11:00 am worship time; students join their parents in the Sanctuary at noon
for communion or a blessing.
Children’s Ministry emphasizes spiritual growth of the individual child within a community of faith. We strive to support each parent as he/she carries out the significant responsibility of guiding their child’s beliefs and prayer life. Our common goal is to provide a foundation from which your child can respond as the Holy Spirit directs. In addition, there are opportunities for character development through missions projects, stewardship, and small group interaction.
